mechanisms to create some sort of radial-barrel

cam hybrid? Would that let me combine the two

one-dimensional movements to create a two-

dimensional path? I’d never seen it done before,

but I decided that if I could figure out how to do it,

I would call it a complex barrel cam.

I opened up Onshape, my CAD program of choice.

I started by creating a circle and drawing a

horizontal line beneath it. I added eight reference

points equally spaced around the circle; imagine

them as points 1, 2, 3, etc. Then I created eight

rotational instances of the circle and its eight

reference points, using the line as the axis of
