Solution
Deploy the web server and application server software onto dedicated hardware servers that are optimized to support these different types of functionality. Architecture introduces separate tiers of web and application servers. Both are deployed as load-balanced elements.
The split between web and application servers is generally carried out on both the hardware and software elements. This means that both hardware and software can be tuned for the web and application server functions.
