It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Methodology
Manageability is the simplicity with which the entities of an applications can be monitored for health status and instrumentation.
This process involves the following key aspects:
- Ability to leverage a monitoring and management applications to get a single view of the entire landscape of your enterprise applications
- Get alerts, events and notifications as the thresholds are approached, for example, storage, CPU, and memory
- Remotely control systems and applications, and be able to spin new virtual machines at the click of a mouse
- Create a rich graphical dashboard of the main system metrics and KPIs
