I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Ephemeral storage
For the sake of simplicity, we will start with non-persistent storage, also known as ephemeral storage. As its name suggests, a user who actively uses a virtual machine in the OpenStack environment will lose the associated disks once the VM is terminated. When a tenant boots a virtual machine on an OpenStack cluster, a copy of the glance image is downloaded on the compute node. This image is used as the first disk for the Nova instance, which provides the ephemeral storage. Anything stored on this disk will be lost once the Nova instance is terminated.
