So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Indexing the data
Searching, retrieving, and indexing the data in an object storage device (OSD) is done via the extensive usage of metadata. Although a typical NAS storage uses the metadata, you should consider the fact that the metadata in OSD are stored with the object itself in key-value pairs. What makes it simpler is that the OSD keeps tagging the object even if it is sliced or chunked with its metadata for storage efficiency reasons.
