I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Network types
The addition of the concept of plugins in Neutron implies the support of different network types that vary regarding their usage in an OpenStack setup.
It should be noted that the network types are not related to how they are implemented in reality (Flat, VLAN, VXLAN, or GRE) but distinguished by their usage. The following network types are often used while describing the virtual network topology:
- Tenant networks: This are virtual networks created by tenants.
- Provider networks: These are created by the OpenStack operators and associated with an existing network in the data center. Provider networks can be tagged (VLAN) or untagged (flat) allowing tenants to access existing networks that can be shared or dedicated to a specific ...
