I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Summary
In this chapter, we looked at the basics of server-side scripting through business rules, UI actions, and access controls. We saw the various different runtimes of business rules and the multiple ways a UI action can be displayed to the user. We took a look at when it is appropriate to write server-side script and some examples of common uses, as well as how to test server-side script. We also saw some practical examples of server-side scripting using learned techniques.
In the following chapter, we will be looking at the advanced side of server-side scripting, including script includes, scheduled jobs, and background scripts. We will also look at how to script in workflows and script actions, as well as how to set up events. We will ...
