Building the hardware
For this project, we are going to prototype out the hardware using a breadboard. This will allow us to easily reconfigure and adjust the hardware on the fly without having to take out a soldering iron to make adjustments. No matter how simple or complex a project is, I've always found that breadboarding the circuits first is a great way to improve the odds that the first spin of a printed circuit board (PCB) will work as expected.
