Selecting a pushbutton
The first is the Schurter Inc. 3-101-399 RGB pushbutton switch, which is a single-pull, single-throw capacitive switch. This switch comes with all the leads already attached, so they simply need to be connected to the pyboard. Since the switch does use capacitance, there is no physical movement on the switch. This makes it interesting in an instance where a button is pressed repeatedly and there would usually be concern about wearing out the switch. On the other hand, if it is going to be used in environments where a gloved hand would be used, the capacitive technology would not work.
