Summary
Database mirroring is one of the most significant SQL Server features to come along in a long time. This feature has provided a way for users to get to a minimum level of high availability for their databases and applications without having to use complex hardware and software configurations (as are needed with MSCS and SQL Server Clustering configurations).
To mirror a database, you essentially ask for a complete copy of a database to be created and maintained up to the last committed transaction.
