Recommendations for machine learning

We discussed the role played by recommendations at Amazon. This gives us a good idea of what recommendations are, and what recommendation systems are, from a layperson's point of view. We provided examples for each flavor of recommendations. Machine learning algorithms generated these Amazon recommendations, and that is the common denominator here.

With that said, this topic is presented with the clear purpose of explaining the role played by machine learning in the context of recommendations.
