This chapter focuses on current technology and accepted policies and procedures that support Low Power TV (LPTV) and translator transmission systems.

LPTV and translator transmission systems have been authorized by the FCC for use since 1956 to provide TV service for areas where service had either not been provided or could not be provided by full-service TV stations for various economic, geographic, or technical reasons.
