Internet Protocol Security (IPSec) is a standards-based protocol suite designed specifically for securing Internet Protocol (IP) communications. IPSec authenticates and encrypts each IP packet in an IP data stream. In addition, IPSec has protocols that can establish mutual authentication and cryptographic key negotiation during a session.
