About the Authors
Mary Ann Anderson is the director of the Supply Chain Management Center at the University of Texas at Austin, as well as a lecturer in the Supply Chain Management program at the McCombs School of Business. She is an experienced consultant in the areas of process and quality improvement, supply chain and inventory management, as well as business strategy development. Prior to her teaching and consulting work, she was an engineer for the General Motors Corporation, with positions in operations and product development. Mary Ann received a master’s of science degree in operations engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, during which time she was a researcher for the Department of Defense Lean Aircraft Initiative. She also holds a bachelor’s of science degree in electrical engineering from Kettering University (formerly the GMI Engineering Institute).
Dr. Edward Anderson is the Wright Centennial Professor for Management of Innovative Technology at the University of Texas McCombs School of Business. He has made significant contributions to the fields of distributed innovation management and process improvement. Notable works include The Innovation Butterfly: Managing Emergent Opportunities and Risks during Distributed Innovation, Operations Management For Dummies, and 30+ academic articles.
