Layer Menu
Adjust Color
With these settings you can change a color, replace a color, remove a color cast,
remove all the color from your image, or add color to a black-and-white photo.
Choose from:
• Remove Color Cast (page 192).
• Adjust Hue/Saturation (page 252). Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+U.
• Remove Color (page 269). Keyboard shortcut: Shift+Ctrl+U.
• Replace Color (page 257).
• Adjust Color Curves (page 248). The new Curves tool lets you adjust the
brightness and contrast of specific regions (like highlights or midtones) in your
photo.
• Adjust Color for Skin Tone (page 106). This setting adjusts the colors in your
image based on the skin tones of someone whom you select in the photo.
• Defringe Layer (page 132). The Defringe Layer setting removes the rim of con-
trasting pixels you may get when you remove an object from its background.

Unsharp Mask
Use the Unsharp Mask filter to apply the most popular traditional method for
sharpening your photos. See page 202.
Adjust Sharpness
Choose the Adjust Sharpness menu item to use Adobe’s newest sharpening tool.
