4. If your size numbers aren’t right, resize your photo.
If the proportions of your image aren’t what you want, crop the photo using
one of the methods described earlier, and then come back to the Image Size dia-
log box. Don’t try to reshape an image using the Image Size dialog box.
Once you’ve returned to the Image Size dialog box, go to the bottom of the
window and turn on Resample Image. Choose Bicubic Smoother in the menu.
(This menu choice is Adobe’s recommendation, but you may find that you pre-
fer one of the other resampling choices.)

Bottom: The same photo with resolution set to 72
ppi. Too few pixels stretched too far causes this
kind of blocky, blurry printing. When you can see
the individual pixels, a photo is said to be
pixellated.
