Colorizing a Black-
and-White Photo
4. Adjust the color until it looks the way you want it to.
Move the sliders for Hue, Saturation, and Lightness until you find the look you
want, and then click OK. Figure 10-10 shows the results.

If you want to color something that has no color
information in it, like a white shirt or a grayscale
image, then in the Hue/Saturation dialog box, turn on
Colorize to add color to the image. If you don’t turn
on the Colorize checkbox, you can adjust the hue,
saturation, and lightness of white all day long, and all
you’ll do is go from white to gray to black because
there’s no color info there for Elements to work on.
