Chapter 15. Using the Maildir Mailbox Format

Previous chapters described how to install and configure a basic Postfix mail server. When configuring the Postfix server, one of the options available to the mail administrator is the method Postfix uses to store messages for local users. Of the four methods available, the Maildir method is the most unique and possibly most confusing. This chapter describes the Maildir mailbox format in more detail, and also demonstrates how to use it on a production mail server.
