I have nothing but the utmost respect and admiration for the men and women who serve in the armed forces. Every day, these guys (both male and female) are putting themselves on the line. One of the things I’ve noticed in talking to people both in the services and those who are veterans is the immense pride they have in what they do. As a neighbor of mine, an ex-Navy guy, told me on one occasion, “There’s two ways to do anything: the wrong way and the Navy way.” I’ve heard similar sentiments expressed by others, whether in regard to the Air Force, the Army, or the Marines. Pride is a basic component of what keeps these organizations functioning.
