This chapter will offer readers an introduction to what coaching is, how coaching is used in different aspects of organizations, and how it is used for Organization Development (OD) change interventions. Given the limited space to explain all related elements of coaching in OD, this chapter will offer many valuable references for readers to expand their knowledge and understanding of this beneficial concept. You will become familiar with key terminologies and the definitions of various coaching approaches to an organization’s change efforts. In addition, you will learn more about two of the main coaching models and delivery platforms for implementing coaching in OD change intervention; one is Action Research Model (ARM) as a platform for delivering the coaching process, and the second one is Appreciative Coaching (AC) as the coaching approach supported by Appreciative Inquiry (AI). This chapter will conclude by providing a key summary of the lessons learned, some discussion questions, and links to some online contributions by professionals in this domain.
