In today’s work environment, technology plays a pivotal role in enhancing collective decision-making even in face-to-face situations. Cutting-edge technologies like video conferencing, team collaboration apps, and extended reality harness the collective intelligence and diverse perspectives of team members, greatly enhancing collaborative decision-making by bringing people together regardless of their physical locations or time zones (Church et al. 2002).
Data analytics from large datasets now support data-driven collective decision-making, while AI and machine learning algorithms further enhance this process. These technologies can predict trends, identify issues, and enable teams to make informed decisions quickly (Chang and Ke 2024). Moreover, the emergence of generative AI offers innovative solutions by generating new content, simulating scenarios, and offering data-driven recommendations (Doanh et al. 2023).
