This chapter gives an overview of the concept of linked data and the technologies that support its use so that relevant content can be accessed on the web.
WHAT IS LINKED DATA?
Basically, linked data is just structured data that is interlinked with other data. This interlinking is useful because it enables the publishing and connecting of structured data on the web. This, in turn, makes the Semantic Web, which was briefly introduced in Chapter 17, a realistic possibility.
