Summary
In this chapter, we covered the basic theory of transactions, which is probably one of the most important topics related to application architecture. You learned about transaction support in SQL Server and the supported isolation levels and their behavior. You also saw a side-by-side comparison with ADO.NET.
We also covered implementation of distributed transactions and the support for writing transactional code that might have nothing to do with a database other than possibly enlisting in the same transaction as the database.
