I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Creating an Occasionally Connected System
At the time of this writing, Data Sync does not support direct synchronization between mobile devices and SQL Server or SQL Azure. Although this functionality may be added to a future version of Data Sync, for now, you simply cannot build synchronization capabilities directly into the phone application using Data Sync. But consider as well that you may not want to expose your SQL Server database via the Internet directly to the mobile application. Adding a SQL Azure database to the design to act as a buffer between mobile clients and the on-premise “back office” database introduces an extra layer of security to the solution.
