Schedule Management
The overall purpose of schedule management is to develop a project schedule, manage to that schedule, and ensure that the project completes within the approved time frame. Schedule management involves defining project activities, developing the schedule, executing the schedule, and controlling the plans during project execution.
In an Adaptive/Agile Environment, short cycles (Sprints) are used to undertake work, review the results and adapt as necessary. These cycles provide rapid feedback on the approaches and suitability of deliverables and generally manifest as an on-demand, pull-based scheduling.
