So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Public Affairs Specialty Qualification and Accession
PAOs enter into the military communications career field from varied educational backgrounds via a commissioning source. Commissioning sources include Officer Training School, United States Service Academies, or the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps. Typically, PAOs are commissioned officers and have a four-year college degree. Many have postgraduate degrees, especially mid-grade, and senior officers.
Other avenues of entry might also include seasoned enlisted communication specialists selected for commissioning, warrant officers, or selective or required lateral transfers from other career fields. For some services, PAOs can go directly into the career field as a newly commissioned ...
