I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Setting up the Raspberry Pi Zero serial port
In order to use the serial port to talk to sensors, the serial port login/console needs to be disabled. In the Raspbian OS image, this is enabled by default as it enables easy debugging.
The serial port login can be disabled via raspi-config:
- Launch the terminal and run this command:
sudo raspi-config
- Select Advanced Options from the main menu of raspi-config:
