CHAPTER 7Rebooting Your Control of You

Earlier in our conversation, we looked at ourselves as children. We looked at how we operated and moved. It was at this point in our life when our brain was working perfectly, without restriction. This was when our mental operating system had no flawed programs, nothing that was holding us back or misshaping our perspective on ourselves. In simple terms, no one had taught us any limiting beliefs. For most of us, me included (at least until our reboot), this was the last time we were really programed to build the life we most want for ourselves.

The goal of our reboot is to reset our mental operating system back to what it was when we were young, before we had been conditioned in negative and limiting ways. To do this we need to reflect on how a child thinks, specifically the way they think prior to the age of two. Why two? Remember, that's when the outside world began to shift the optimal beliefs we were born with.

So, let's take a couple of minutes and look back in the mirror at that young child. Let's reexamine the world through their perspective based on the way they think.

When you get quiet and still, one of the very first things you will notice in young children is that they have absolutely no deflective behaviors. They don't make excuses. They don't rationalize why they can't do something. They don't place blame. Prior to the age of two, children take complete ownership over themselves.
