Other chapters in this book repeatedly stated that sketches can be a valuable conversational prop for presenting your ideas to others and for gathering feedback from them in the form of constructive criticism. Presenting ideas and gathering feedback is something you should do constantly in various situations. These can range from brief informal discussions, to scheduled periodic meetings where you present your ideas formally to others and gather structured feedback from them.
