Securing an MVC application
Security is a key aspect in software development, and we need to take it seriously if we want to avoid exposing our applications to common attacks. Also, we may want to restrict access to non-authorized people. We will review some techniques to keep our software safe in Chapter 13, Security. In the meantime, you will learn how to secure an MVC application using Spring Security.
Up to this point, we have reviewed how to build a web application using Thymeleaf and Spring MVC. When working with web applications, one of the most common authentication mechanisms is basic authentication. Let's discuss this in more detail.
