Which is the right management approach: structure-centric or HC-centric? The choice between the two is more complex than it might seem because each of these approaches offers two different ways to organize. In the case of a structure-centric approach, a company can organize either as a hierarchical bureaucracy or as a low-cost operator. An HC-centric organization can choose to be either a high-involvement organization or a global competitor. The choice of organizational approach is critical and warrants careful analysis.
