So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Chapter 2. Making the Right Management Choice
Which is the right management approach: structure-centric or HC-centric? The choice between the two is more complex than it might seem because each of these approaches offers two different ways to organize. In the case of a structure-centric approach, a company can organize either as a hierarchical bureaucracy or as a low-cost operator. An HC-centric organization can choose to be either a high-involvement organization or a global competitor. The choice of organizational approach is critical and warrants careful analysis. Fortunately, it is possible to identify some strong indicators of when each approach is likely to be most effective.
