So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

It’s clear that long-term changes are taking place in the technology environment for business analytics. However, to understand the technology environment of the next five years, it’s useful to understand that during the last five—actually, the last 10 or 20—analytics have been a relatively stable technology. In this chapter I’ll briefly describe nine different attributes of the past business analytics technology environment, each of which is likely to change in the future.
