A vital component of The Conversion Code is social media. If your goal is to get as many clicks (and leads) as possible, the data makes a compelling argument that you should define social media as “Facebook, plus everything else.”
Facebook and Google account for 54.1% of all digital ad spend.1 Facebook owns Instagram and Google owns YouTube. Those four brands dominate social, search, images, and videos on the web.
Facebook and Instagram are the no. 1 and no. 2 channels for getting the most ROI from social media2 (Figure 6.1). More than 40% of marketers said Facebook, and more than 30% said Instagram, are the channels that work the best.
Another important statistic that Facebook has a significant lead in is the percentage of users of other social networks who also use Facebook.3 Here is the percentage broken down by social network:
- 89.3% of LinkedIn users also use Facebook.
- 85.8% of TikTok users also use Facebook.
- 84.9% of Twitter users also use Facebook.
For comparison:
- 30.2% of Facebook users also use LinkedIn.
- 40.4% of Facebook users also use TikTok.
- 48.6% of Facebook users also use Twitter.
