So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

The potential applications of Big Data are vast and numerous. Big Data can be used to predict stock prices, identify fraudulent transactions or find cures to new diseases. To build successful solutions or use cases, data scientists need to find a way to retrieve value from massive data sets.
To accomplish this objective, data needs to be queried or analysed with the help of algorithms. Some of these algorithms will be very simple, like finding the averages in historical sales records. Other algorithms will be extremely complex, like Google’s search algorithm to determine the most ‘suitable’ search results based on a few keywords.
