So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

The Big Data Centre of Excellence (BDCoE) provides a uniform entry point for the rest of the organization to request data insights and services. It is typically structured as an independent function or unit, mostly as a part of the IT department. Because it is a uniform entry point for the business to request Big Data services, it should be clear to the rest of the organization which services the BDCoE provides. For that reason, a BDCoE should have a comprehensive service catalogue that outlines which services the BDCoE provides, including the expected service levels and (if appliable) costs involved.
