6. Transformed by Imagination
During the opening ceremonies at the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992, a spectacular example of imagination’s transformative power occurred. In the full darkness of the stadium, Paralympic archer Antonio Rebollo took aim at a target 180 feet away and 70 yards high. His flaming arrow gracefully arced across the stadium and over the cauldron, igniting the Olympic flame. Rebollo’s shot symbolized humanity’s potential to overcome obstacles through the power of imagination and skill.
