Your Cable Release Alternative

If you either don’t own a cable release, you forgot your cable release, or you left it back in the car (which is a hike from where you are), here’s your backup plan: use your camera’s self-timer feature. That way, after you press the shutter button (which moves your camera a little bit), there are a few seconds for that movement to dissipate, so you can get a sharp shot.
