I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Location Scouting
This is especially important if you’re going to be shooting at dawn, because it’s really hard to find the perfect spot in the dark. Sadly, I’ve been burned by this more than once. When I showed up where I thought I wanted to shoot, it wasn’t as great a spot as I thought, and by then it was too late—I was stuck with that location and came away with shots I was really disappointed with. Had I scoped out the location the day before, I would have realized then that it wasn’t that great and found a better spot. This is particularly important when you don’t have a chance to return the next day and try again—if you only get one shot ...
