there is no reason to exclude linear text-based models — provided the sys-

tem being modeled fits the physical characteristics of single tasking,

sequential, linear processes. That the future software development pro-

cess will be model based is a given, because all thought is “model based.”

However, the clear understanding of what that means will become a key

element in future development paradigms, and the selection or construc-

tion of the model components and language will become a key part of

building systems.
