I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
VERTICAL LINES
This did not begin as an image about vertical lines. I was more interested in the clean geometric Icelandic architecture; but in the course of walking around to find the best viewpoint, I watched the play of light change. From here, the vertical planking and picket fence were catching the low sun intensely, and I was happy to let the crisp contrast take over the image. It may look like late afternoon, but this was June in Iceland, and it’s almost ten oclock in the evening. At this point, far from wanting to balance tones, I actively wanted strong contrast so that the vertical lines would dominate. I took time to find this exact viewpoint: reflection in the façade at its strongest, picket fence prominent, distant house neatly positioned ...
