COLLAGE
A collage is an assembly of separate images, which you might think is really the job of an art director on a magazine or book rather than a photographer. The idea is that the different images are defined, and usually separated by their edges, which are left clear and straight. Nevertheless, by choosing the images carefully and by positioning them so that certain edges fit neatly against others, they can be blended in an almost seamless way. The viewer understands that they are separate, but at the same time they appear to make a whole, and the result is a kind of single picture.
