This is more illustration than photograph, which doesn’t mean to say that there’s anything wrong about it, but that we’re in a different world of graphics and layout. It’s very much a “declared” work of compositing, not pretending to be anything other than stylized treatment of food, destined for publication somewhere (in fact, in a book). Why bother? Because all of the images in the book were of bowls of noodles, and just as no one wants to eat noodles continuously, we also need a varied visual diet.
