Exporting and Migrating Presets

Along with using the Preset Manager to save presets, you can also migrate presets from previous versions and export/import presets to share them with other users. As of Photoshop CS6, it’s a whole lot easier to move presets from older versions of Photoshop to your current version. In fact, when you launch Photoshop CS6 or CC for the first time, an alert should “see” any older versions of Photoshop on your computer and ask if you want to import presets from your previous versions (Figure 6.45). And unlike the Preset Manager, this function also includes adjustment layer presets and actions.
