12VR in Vocational Educational and Training: Conceptual Framework and Adoption Roadmap

Abstract
Virtual reality (VR) can play an important role in enhancing the learning capability of students training in the field of vocational education. By replicating the real-world environment in a digital frame, VR can also significantly decrease the resource requirements to train students well and make them future-ready. Owing to a host of benefits it brings to the table, VR is increasingly finding favor among all the stakeholders in the vocational training and education ecosystem. The conceptual framework proposed by this chapter takes into consideration all the important aspects of VR and calls for concerted efforts to help in the widespread adoption of technology among target stakeholders. The study also talks about the important implications of the VR option in vocational studies and its potential benefits for all the participating stakeholders in the years to come.
