Chapter 22. Introduction
The purpose of Part III is to introduce the concepts and issues associated with the deployment of large-scale PKIs. This part of the book is not intended to be a step-by-step deployment handbook. Part III is deliberately small; more specific deployment details could easily be the topic of an entire book. In fact, many PKI vendors offer rather voluminous and comprehensive deployment manuals to their customers, and a number of firms offer consulting services in the area of PKI deployment. The idea behind Part III is simply to familiarize you with the basic issues likely to be encountered when deploying a large-scale PKI in the enterprise domain.
