It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Image Scanners
Classes in the Windows.Devices.Scanners namespace enable apps to initiate scans from a flatbed scanner or one with a document feeder. This support is built on top of Windows Image Acquisition 2.0, which was introduced in the Windows Vista timeframe, so it should work with any scanner with a Windows logo.
