Chapter 5. Teleportation
Teleportation is one of the leading methods for artificial locomotion in the current state of VR. This chapter expands the trace interaction from Chapter 4 into a simple teleportation mechanism.
The best form of locomotion in VR is undoubtedly to have no artificial locomotion. Instead, rely on a one-to-one mapping of real-world actions to your VR characters. However, this creates an incredibly limiting set of requirements, and thus it isn’t possible for many games or even whole genres to rely on this method.
