So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Chapter 7, “Working with Images,” examined converting and incorporating images into WAP applications. This chapter takes images one step further by adding timer functionality. Timers are a useful tool in creating dynamic and animated applications that result in a better user experience.
Timers provide a means for applications to measure time intervals. Developers use timers to incorporate a variety of capabilities into an application. Timers provide the ability to incorporate functionality such as a flashing logo at the beginning of an application, interstitial banner ads, or a page that updates data on a real-time basis.
