I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Creating and populating the database
For the Zabbix server to store the data, we need a database. As we have installed our Zabbix server with MySQL support, we need to install the MySQL server first. You will see that we install MariaDB instead of MySQL. This is because now most distributions prefer to deliver MariaDB instead of MySQL as MySQL was acquired by Oracle and people were afraid Oracle would change the license. Zabbix also has support for other databases, such as Oracle, IBM DB2, and PostgreSQL. The reason we use MySQL is because it's the most widely known and also the preferred database by Zabbix SIA.
