Preface

I was introduced to sales at a young age listening as my mother, Lorraine, made weekly phone calls to her customers, gaining orders for our wholesale garden plant farm. She built strong personal relationships with her customers and knew their business, personal backgrounds, challenges, and future goals. Mum was an expert on plants and would help her customers to time their purchase as ideally as possible, especially with flowering varieties. She was focused on helping her customers achieve excellent outcomes.

Mum diarized her conversations with customers, their latest successes, challenges, and future goals. She would reference her diary before the next call and always bring into conversation what she had learned previously. The relationships ...
